Enter our monthly coloring contest! Bring your submission to the Museum, mail it (50 West Main, Hyrum, UT 84319), or email it museum@hyrumcity.com.
Our May Back-in-Time is May Flowers! Come to the museum on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday May 16, 17, & 18 to learn why poppies became a powerful symbol of remembrance following WWI and hear the story of a local WWI veteran! Attendees will make paper poppies and get a treat. Back-in-Time activities are free open to everyone, but sign-up is encouraged. This is our last Back-in-Time for the 2022-2023 school year. Back-in-Time resumes in September. Stay tuned for more about our Passport to Summer Fun!
Our May Super Saturday is our Memorial Day Open House and will be on Saturday, May 27, 10am-3pm. In between the BBQs and cemetery visits, be sure to drop by the museum to learn more about the history of “Decoration Day” and our local veterans! This is a great event to attend if you have family in town for the long weekend!
The museum is honored to partner with the Utah Cold War Veterans Foundation to recognize all local veterans of the Cold War. Any veteran who served at any time between 2 September 1945 and 26 December 1991 is eligible. Please contact museum staff by Friday, May 12th, at 435-245-0208 or museum@hyrumcity.com (or come into the museum) to be added to the program. A special ceremony will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at 5:00pm at the Mountain Crest High School Auditorium (255 South 800 East, Hyrum). The community is invited to attend this free event.
Our annual car show fundraiser is next month! Pre-registration for vehicles is now open for Hot Wheels in Hyrum! Saturday, June 3, 2023, 10am-3pm at Hyrum City Square! Visit the museum starting May 23rd to get one free prize drawing ticket per person. We will also be launching our summer-long children’s activity, Passport to Summer Fun with new adventures, projects, and drop-in activities—including a BRAND NEW Night at the Museum event—so visit the museum tent to get your passport and special event-specific stamp! Vehicle registration is open and available at the museum or at hyrumcitymuseum.org until Thursday, June 1st.
