Check out all the events happening at the Museum this month!

Our August Super Saturday event, How Sweet!, is on Saturday, August 26. Did you know that the formation of the sugar beet industry in Cache Valley was not always nice and sweet? In the late 1910s – early 1920s the Amalgamated Sugar Company thwarted the efforts of the West Cache Sugar Company to create an independent sugar enterprise. Join us in the Hyrum City Council Chambers at 11am for a presentation about this sticky situation from Dr. Matthew Godfrey, “A West Side (Sugar) Story: Big Business, Corporate Intrigue, and the West Cache Sugar Company”. Matthew Godfrey is a Cache Valley Native & the Senior Managing Historian at the Church History Department. The museum will be open from 10am-3pm.
Come see Museum Volunteer Kaya Eccles’s artwork on display at the Museum from Jump the Moon Art Studio & Gallery. Kaya’s paintings will be on display through August. Visitors will also have the opportunity to learn about Jump the Moon Foundation and the work they do to help diversely-abled artists get creative.
Enter our monthly coloring contest! Bring your submission to the Museum, mail it (50 West Main, Hyrum, UT 84319), or email it museum@hyrumcity.com.
Anyone who earns 9 stamps (or more!) in their Passport To Summer Fun is invited to attend our annual Passport Pizza Party on Thursday, August 3, 12:30-1:30pm.  Sign-up is required. RSVP hyrumcitymuseum.org or 435-245-0208, or stop by and let us know you’ll be there!
