Check out all the events happening at the museum this month!

Join us for our February Back-in-Time Children’s Activity on Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday, February 6, 7, & 8 at 1pm each day. We will be learning about Mignon Barker Richmond, an important figure in Utah history as the first African-American woman to graduate from a college in Utah, a prominent human rights activist, a mother, and a community leader. All children are welcome to attend this free event. Call, email, or drop-by the Museum to sign-up.

Join us for free family movie nights at Elite Hall on Friday, March 1! Doors open at 6:30, movies begin at 7pm. Wear your comfy clothes, bring your favorite treats or dinner, and don’t forget your blankets, pillows, camp chairs, etc. This is a free public event and a great chance to watch fun movies on a big screen with a sound system on the historic spring-loaded dance floor of Elite Hall!

Save the date for Jazz Nights at Elite Hall 2024! Throw yourself back to the roaring 20s and experience live music, dinner, and dancing on Utah’s only spring-loaded dance floor! Join us for dancing on February 8th, 9th, and 10th.

The Elite Hall is thrilled to host the USU jazz orchestra and ensemble for three evenings of incredible big band music and dancing. Dances start each night at 7:00 pm and the music plays until 10:15. Tickets are only $15 ($10 with student ID, must show ID at the door)! Free dance lessons begin at 6:00 pm. Dinner is available Friday and Saturday for $30 (includes dance ticket, pre-registration is preferred for dinner).

There will be a friendly dance competition on Saturday night! It is fun to compete or just to watch! 20s/40s Era dress is encouraged but not necessary! We know you’ll have an amazing time!

For our February Super Saturday we are partnering with Sema Hadithi African American Heritage & Culture Foundation to present: Tell The Story. Join us on Saturday, February 24, from 10am – 3pm as we begin to dream of spring and learn more about Utah’s rich history of Black Baseball leagues.

We are pleased to have a new exhibition in our back gallery of artwork from the South Cache Middle School Art Club! “History & Me” is a sculpture gallery where students identified and researched an object from history that has an impact or influence on their life today. The project allowed students to use art to explore their connection to the past and inspire others to reflect on the same. Join us for a public reception on Tuesday, February 13, from 4:30-6:00pm.
