Our April Back-in-Time Children’s Activity “Hop to It!” is on Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday, April 16, 17, & 18 at 1pm each day. We will do a fun art project to learn all about bunnies and other sings of spring’s arrival throughout Cache Valley’s History. All children are welcome to attend this free event. Call, email, or drop-by the Museum to sign-up.
Our April Super Saturday “Jim Bridger Bicentennial” celebrates the 200 years since the Rocky Mountain Fur Company trappers, including William Sublette and Jim Bridger, first came to Cache Valley. Join us on Saturday, April 27, from 10am-3pm, for demonstrations from contemporary Mountain Men and Women, as well as a fur-tastic art activity! Admission is free and all are invited to attend!
Our April coloring contest is here! Send your entry to 50 West Main Street, Hyrum, UT 84319, museum@hyrumcity.com, or bring it in person during our open hours (Tuesday – Thursday from 10AM to 4PM). Coloring pages are also available to pick up at the Museum or download from our website. Don’t forget to include your name, age, and address to collect your prize.
The museum will be closed on April 10-11 so staff can attend the Utah Historical Society/National Council on Public History Conference. We will reopen at 10am on Tuesday, April 16. Email museum@hyrumcity.com if you need to reach museum staff prior to next week. We apologize for any inconvenience!
We have a new exhibit at the museum! “100 Years of Filmmaking in Utah” is on display now through April 18th. The exhibit, courtesy of the Utah Film Commission and the Utah Division of Arts & Museums, celebrates the people, locations, and productions that have been made in Utah over the last century. Add a visit to the museum to your spring break plans!
