Join us for our December Back-in-Time Children’s Activity on Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday, December 3, 4, & 5 at 1pm each day. There are around a dozen cultural and religious holidays celebrated around the world in December! Join us for Happy Hanukkah to learn more about this Jewish festival. All children are welcome to attend this free event. Sign-up is preferred, so visit, call (435-245-0208), or email (museum@hyrumcity.gov) to let us know you’re coming!The Hyrum City Christmas Celebration is coming up! We need you to share your holiday traditions by signing up to bring a decorated Christmas tree or gingerbread house for the display! To reserve your entry space please submit the Christmas Celebration Form linked here: https://docs.google.com/…/1FAIpQLSfqNfq…/viewform or found on the city’s website (hyrumcity.gov) or through the QR code on our poster. We invite citizens of Hyrum to provide decorated Christmas trees and gingerbread houses for a community display and contest. First, second, and third place trees and gingerbread entries will receive a $200, $100, and $50 credit to their utility account. Winners will be announced at the end of the celebration. Tree setup and gingerbread house drop off will be from 9:00 a.m. Dec 5th through 4:00 p.m. Dec 6th (9:00 am – 9:30 pm Thursday, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm Friday). Displays will be open for viewing and community vote on: Friday Dec 6 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm & Saturday Dec 7 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Special visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus from 12 – 2 pm on Saturday. Free Family Movie Night at Elite Hall will follow on Saturday at 7pm. Join us at Elite Hall for a free movie at 7:00pm on Saturday, December 7 (NOTE: This month movie night is on Saturday as part of the Hyrum City Christmas Celebration). Doors open at 6:30. Wear comfy clothes and don’t forget your blankets, pillows, beanbags, camp chairs, etc. Bring your own dinner/treats.Our December coloring contest is here! Send your entry to 50 West Main Street, Hyrum, UT 84319, museum@hyrumcity.gov, or bring it in person during our open hours (Tuesday – Thursday from 10AM to 4PM). Coloring pages are also available to pick up at the Museum or download from our website. Don’t forget to include your name, age, and address to collect your prize.The Museum will be closed the week of December 24-26, plus December 31-January 2 for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.Ring in the New Year dancing on Utah’s only remaining functional spring-loaded dance floor at the New York New Year’s Eve celebration! Join us from 7:00–10:00 pm on Tuesday, December 31, as we dance into 2025 on New York time. That means we’ll watch the ball drop live from New York and celebrate with confetti poppers at 10:00 pm. All tickets are $10 for ages 16 and up, 15 and younger are free but must be accompanied by a ticket-holder. Light hors d’oeuvres will be served.
